How do I make my fundraising page stand out?

Made your fundraising page but not sure how to make it your own? Take a look at these tips to see how to make your page more engaging.

Add a profile picture

First things first, put a profile picture and banner on your fundraising page, and if you want, make it as personal to you as possible. JustGiving's research suggests that fundraising pages with photos on their page raise 13% more per photo!

Make it personal

Is there a personal connection you have to the challenge you're doing, or the charity you're supporting? Then speak up about it! According to JustGiving, writing a story to potential donors on your page as to why you are doing your charity challenge could raise you 65% more than if you did not include a story.

Post regularly about your progress

Once you hit a major fundraising milestone, you can post about it on your fundraising page (i.e. "Just hit X% milestone! The money raised so far could support XYZ for X charity!")

If you are wanting to develop your training for the challenge, connect your Fitbit or Strava account to your JustGiving page and your fitness updates will automatically be posted on your page. JustGiving states you could raise 111% more and have supporters keep track of your progress by connecting your page with your Strava or Fitbit account.

Thank your donors

In order to make the most out of your fundraising page, make sure to THANK YOUR DONORS! Your donors are the reason you have been able to do your fundraising, so whenever you get a few donations, do a shout-out to your family and friends and list them by name to say thanks. To go above and beyond, tag them in social media posts about your fundraising so that they can share this to their socials and get more exposure to your cause.

Rhian, who fundraised for the National Autistic Society this year, recorded a video whilst on her challenge to give thanks to all of the people who donated to her fundraising page.

Other final tips to boost your fundraising page...

  • Self donate - Believe it or not, people who make the first donation to their fundraising page raise 84% more than those who don't!
  • Add your fundraising target - Make sure to add your fundraising target to your page, as pages with fundraising targets raise 17% more than those that don't.
